Daily Purification ? A Short Vajrasattva Practice is an instruction fra Lama Zopa Rinpoche on a short Vajrasatta meditation called Purification with the Four Opponent Powers. The practice is based upon the merits of Buddhist teacher Ati?a Dipankara Shrijnana born in 980 in Bangladesh ? a major figure in the establishment of the Sarma lineages in Tibet. In the work Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand, by Pabongka Rinpoche, it is explained how Ati?a Dipankara would purify any negativity, no matter how small, immediately. Even in public or when riding his horse, as soon as he noticed a breach of his ethics, he would stop what he was doing, drop to one knee and then and there, purify it with the four opponent powers?the powers of dependence, regret, remedy and restraint.
