These four volumes is the complete Nyaya Sutras in English and they are some of the most important philosophical texts from the hindu-tradition. The verses are explaining a number of core concepts found in both Buddhism and Hindusim, suchs a soul, self, inner freedom, yoga and it recommends ways of meditating. It is also the Nyaya Sutras of Gautama that truly separates the core ideas in Buddhism from Hinduism. While Buddhism defines an eternal void of emptiness (Anatta), the Hindus believe in the concept of Atman (soul). The Nyaya Sutras have been of great influence to the Vedanta schools of Hindu philosophy. Furthermore Nyaya Sutras is one of the earliest Indian works on logic.
